Questions about Dental Implants (FAQs)

Listed below are the most common questions we are asked about Dental Implants. If your question is not answered here, please contact us.

What is the cost of dental implants?

We charge an initial consultation fee of £75 which is set-off against the implant cost if you go ahead with an implant procedure. Panoramic x-rays are an additional £53 and 3-D x-ray imaging is £99 per jaw (should these be necessary).

The cost of one complete dental implant, including crown, is £1,950 (down from £2,250). There has never been a better time to have your implant done!

If you need more than one implant, additional units are somewhat cheaper and we are pleased to provide you with a written quotation following a consultation.

Whilst we do consider the price to be 'all-inclusive', there are circumstances where the cost will be higher: in certain situations where there has been loss of bone or gum in the implant site, it may be necessary to replace missing bone and/or gum prior to, or along with, placement of the implant. This grafting is best discussed with the implantologist. The additional fee can range from £350 to £1500 depending on what is required.

Can I pay by Installments?

Yes, we do offer a 12-18 monthly installment plan for many of our procedures. We require an initial payment of 15% followed by direct debit payments until the balance is paid. If you are interested in this option, please ask for more information at your consultation.

Is it going to hurt?

For the insertion of a single implant, we rarely need more than a simple local anaesthetic and whilst there may be some discomfort we aim for pain-free treatments from start to finish. Most patients report the discomfort to be similar to that of a simple extraction. Following the procedure, simple over-the-counter pain-killers may be used if needed.

For multiple implants, where the duration of the procedure can be over an hour, we typically use sedation for which we use an anaesthesiologist. This is not a general anaesthetic but will be sufficient to ensure you are comfortable throughout the entire procedure.

We take your comfort very seriously and are happy to discuss any worries you might have in this area.
